How was I inspired into doing "Missing U"?

Photoshop Video-Tutorials | IRL Channel Facebook | DeviantArt

Yesterday, I talked about "how do I get inspired". Today, I'm here to prove to you that what I wrote yesterday wasn't just mere opinion but rather experience, that I know what I'm saying.
Title: Missing U
Link to Video-Tutorial : "Birthday Greetings for your Special Someone"

The message and emphasis of "missing U" is clear and subtle, that's how any greeting card is supposed to be designed! The emphasis, is not focused on mere words but on "focus" itself.

Whilst, yes, it's a "birthday greeting" design, as you can clearly see here. I changed it to a love-ish base, if you look closely. Look upwards, near the end of "miss" and you'll notice a subtle message.

This is how art is supposed to be made with, it's not just one message. It is not a declaration but a declamation.

It's like love itself. Noone has ever truly defined what it is, yet so many try. Some say, "love is your counter-part in another". But, it's, cheesy and it's just not enough. Love isn't just about your "counter-part" it's so much more.

My artwork, your artwork, our artwork must not conform to limited perception. We are artists! We must convey "more than meets the eye". As cheesy as that sounds, in my opinion, this is what makes an artist renowned.

Subtlety, is the key. With subtly, we part more than appeal to our viewers, to our admirers... we also part with them a piece of our soul. Our passion, our fears, our hopes, our joy, our pain... must linger within our artwork.

Instincts, tastes, upbringing, experiences, they are a part of us. Therefore, they MUST be a part of our art!

Sincerely,
-John Arcenas

PS: just in case, some of you noticed that the typography is missing a "for", i.e. thank you 'for' being with me. It's intentional. Just a suggestion, but you might wanna read the 2nd paragraph again.

How Do I Get Inspired?

Photoshop Video-Tutorials | IRL Channel | Facebook | DeviantArt

Being artistic, demands creativity. A tad eccentric, or a lot... but, that's who we are. We see, the norm from a whole different perspective. Our inward selves, drive the fury in our art. The emphasize, that subtlety in our designs.

Inspiration can come in many shapes and forms. A color, a ray, a glare, a beam, an angle. Whenever you look at something, never ever look at it straight. Never think, that, oh, "it's an apple. Boring". No, no, no... when you see it, see it as not just as a whole but as parts of it. 3/4, 2/4, 1/2, bent, twisted.

Whenever I work on something, for example. This, when I was conceptualizing it. I looked at a grungy wall, a dried flower and a piece of paper. One might wonder, how did I get inspired from those?

Well, I blended the three and somehow I got that.

As I've said, "inspiration can come in many shapes and forms". Never, ever look at it straight.

Go out, and conceptualize your next artwork!
