Photography for many is their profession, their creed even. Me, it's my passion.
Photography may be defined as a void, as a blackhole even. As cheesy and as weird as that sounds, it can be. What I mean about that is, photography has many ways of proving itself as an emissary. A messenger, it can be either or both be a blackhole and a whitehole.
Perception states "the process, act of faculty of perceiving." There's a common and kinda cheesy cheesy saying that "a picture is worth a thousand words". Now I don't who came up with that, but I disagree. I do not believe a picture is "worth a thousand words." I believe that a picture is, selected emotions.
A proper photo, will not convey "a thousand words" but just a few, direct ,and meaningful emotions:
Photography has 3 aspects; ISO, shutter speed and aperture. It is an amazing thing, when you combine all those, with ideal lighting and a perspective angle (as I like to call it). The "selected emotion" that you can have:
Photography, shouldn't just be focused on the whole "worth thousand words". But rather, on selected emotions. Think of the "worth thousand words" is mere compliment to your focus, remember, you may think you're just a photographer. Taking shots, getting extreme angles... but you're so much more, you are an artist. Yes, a photographer is also an artist.
I challenge you to use photos to express your inward self to the world. Let them feel you!
Sincerely,
-John Arcenas
PS: I'd appreciate it, if you'd comment on what you felt when you looked at a particular photo. Tell me, I wanna know.
