There comes a time, when one has to recognize when your time is being spent well or just, wasting away. With that in mind, addiction comes into play. Addiction has many, many forms and shapes. Some subtle, some extremely subtle, some obvious, some very obvious yet we as victims or rather, the willing victims, do nothing but push on with our addiction.
Why is addiction, addictive? Yes, some people actually write like that. Addiction, is an internal dent, a subconscious element. We occasionally recognize them, yet do nothing because we feel as if they're "not that bad". "They're just, nothing, little feelings of this and that. Nothing major".
But realize this, those "little feelings". They don't just disappear. They increment, with every passing or added stimulation, the effect of those "little feelings" gradually increases till you're caught in an extreme vice grip.Yes, "vice".
Vice is defined as "a serious moral failing". That's a bit extreme, though in some cases true. Let's try another definition here, "a slight personal failing; foible". Now, that's better. A "personal failing". That's how addiction works, they make you fall. Not suddenly, but rather a slow and comfortable tilt, till eventually you will fall and fall hard.
The topic that we have today, surrounds addiction but the focus is another sleek form of it. Digital gaming, I myself, I know can be quite addicted to digital gaming. From PC games, apps, console, portable, especially if it's one with a great (true) story and an immersible gameplay. I guarantee you, I will waste my life with them. No joke.
And that is your blatant addiction. It is a flagrant attack on our will-power, an internal bomb or bombs, just ticking away with us as the countdown timer.
Every now and then, a small one explodes, unnoticeable of course. But it happens, they flow within our veins, and when they explode. Our cells or whatever it is, they shatter and some, some implode.
This is a serious form of addiction. It's not as obvious, as with greed, lust, deception, sex, drugs, authority and gluttony. This is a sleek one, a spy. Observing, calling out and positioning their troops in certain areas, waiting for the right time to strike. And when they strike, they strike us hard, swift and unnoticeable.
Digital gaming or electronical games, are just fun, mind you. However, they can be an internal mist. They come, they go, they make us blind... as their troops march swiftly and quietly. Their plan is set, the field is marked and the time for battle is neigh.
Let us be aware that the enemy is near, and has already positioned themselves. Let us, be aware that we must have a counterattack, a plan of action, a plan of attack as to how we will defeat or deflect this enemy.
The enemy will never disappear, they will keep ragging us. Over and over again, they won't stop... till we become theirs. We must learn to recognize, when to isolation such issues. To deviate when necessary for the sake of our salvation.
Sincerely,
John Arcenas
